The Masters Tournament

Rory Daniel McIlroy, Northern Irish professional golfer, wins the Masters Tournament. McIlroy is a five time major champion, winning the 2011 U.S. Open, the 2012 and 2014 PGA Championship, and 2025 Masters Championship.

With a shaky and rocky start, McIlroy made it to a “sudden-death” round with Justin Rose for the win. Both Rose and McIlroy held scores of -11 in the overall match. During the sudden-death round, McIlroy pulled through, averaging 3 strokes against Rose’s 4, making McIlroy the 2025 Masters champion.

McIlroy hit a total of 3 eagles, 18 birdies, and 5 bogeys, averaging around 63% driving accuracy and 318 yards driven. He scored 72 in the first round, 66 in the second and third, and 73 in the fourth. Earning 4.2 million dollars, Rory can now grab a seat at the table with all the rest of the legends of golf.

Rory is joined by (in order by year) Horton Smith, Gene Sarazen, Byron Nelson, Henry Picard, Ralph Guldahl, Jimmy Demaret, Craig Wood, Herman Keiser, Claude Harmon, Sam Snead, Ben Hogan, Cary Middlecoff, Jack Burke Jr., Doug Ford, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Gay Brewer, Bob Goalby, George Archer, Billy Casper, Charles Coody, Tommy Aaron, Raymond Floyd, Tom Watson, Fuzzy Zoeller, Seve Ballesteros, Ben Crenshaw, Bernhard Langer, Larry Mize, Sandy Lyle, Nick Faldo, Ian Woosnam, Fred Couples, José María Olazábal, Tiger Woods, Mark O’Meara, Vijay Singh, Mike Weir, Phil Mickelson, Zach Johnson, Trevor Immelman, Ángel Cabrera, Charl Schwartzel, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Danny Willett, Sergio García, Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson, Scottie Scheffler, and Jon Rahm.

The Masters tournament continues to be a staple of golf fans across the globe. Hours upon hours of watch time and relaxing naps fill up the day of the average golf nut. If you don’t watch the masters, why don’t you? It’s relaxing, calming, and overall enjoyable. The adrenaline rush watching your favorite player hit an eagle on a par three, the excitement of seeing all the champions at the masters dinner, whatever reason you watch, it’s for the love of the sport.
