What is 'The GioMoShow'?
'The GioMoShow' is your one and only home for all Oakland sports and beyond! Tune in each week for coverage of all Golden Grizzly athletics, including interviews with athletes & coaches and a recap of the week's action! We also go beyond our campus to talk Detroit sports, the NFL, NBA, and more!
About Giovanni Moceri
He is an Oakland University graduate with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and the former Sports Media Director at the station! Through volunteering and working at 88.3 WXOU, he has struck gold and found his passion in sports broadcasting!
He has gone from a simple, weekly radio show, to:
- Calling Oakland NCAA and club games on WXOU
- Working directly with Oakland Athletics for ESPN+ and Audacy broadcasts
- Interviewing Oakland athletes and coaches
- Writing, producing, and hosting WXOU's premier sports show, 'The GioMoShow'
- Creating and managing social media content for WXOU Sports
- Writing feature stories for wxou.org and the HoriZone Roundtable
He was there when Oakland MBB won the regular season vs. UDM in the O'Rena, when they won the Horizon League Championship vs. Milwaukee in Indiana when they beat Kentucky, and sadly when they lost to NC State in OT in Pittsburgh!
Currently, he is working with the Michigan Soccer Network and Lawrence Tech for Play-by-Play while writing stories for FanWord and continuing to cover Oakland sports via The GioMo Show!
